MLWC Young Lions

The Young Lions program addresses the need for community engagement and outreach by exposing at risk 9th-12th grade high school students to fine and performing arts. This program also combines an educational component where students learn to transfer their passion for art to their school environment as well as a mentorship program to encourage deeper support and relationships between mentors and mentees. These components will provide a framework that will eventually yield greater academic performance for participants. The program's main innovation comes through its combination of arts and education and seeks to benefit the Durham community.
