sankofa

The SANKOFA is an Adinkra symbol from West African wisdom which affirms the necessity of learning from the past to build for the future. The literal meaning is, "Go back to fetch it." Ultimately, we will be guided by the spirit of Sankofa; in that we seek to learn from the past as we strive to build a brighter future for all we encounter and have the opportunity to serve.
